I recently acquired a one-owner Model 66-1 that belonged to a friend. I am trying to determine the date of manufacture.

4TH edition shows 1981. You would need a letter of authenticity for actual ship date. Or, if original box is available check Julian date marked under Spec Ord. if that type of label is applicable to 1981. Serial number range for 1981 is 91K6801 - 124K000.

Right. And the -2 came out in 1982.
