Hello I recently have had the luck to find 2 model 66 and am needing a little help identifying these 1. 66-1 serial number is 98k9981 2. Model 66-3 serial number is BER9505 any help would be much appreciated.

Bduch19, I don't know what kinda help you are looking for, but it will help if you give us some more information and pictures. Barrel length, kind of grips on the gun, and condition would definitely help. The model 66 is a great gun. I have a 6" 66-2 transitional gun myself. It has a pinned barrel but not a recessed cylinder, and a small trademark on the left side of the frame. It was my first gun I bought myself, and would be one of the last I would ever get rid of. Mine has a pair of beautiful aftermarket Culina target grips on it now, but I still have the original grips, box, and tools. Hopefully, a real expert like snw19_357 will see this thread.

Since you only supplied serial and dash numbers, it is reasonable to assume the "little help identifying" that you are looking for is dates. With that assumption in mind, I provide the following:

Model 66-1 98k9981 = 1981
Model 66-3 BER9505 = 1990

66-3 serial number is BER9505

Did you find two 2.5" M66's?

98K9981 is a 2.5" transitional (recessed cylinder, barrel not pinned, small TM on left side) and suspect the -3 is too.

I have 66-3 Serial #BER9511. Barrel is 2.5" I believe.
