Model 67-1 Mfr Date?

Have a very nice looking 67-1 inbound to me, S/N 28K9131. Can you give me an indication as to date of Mfr and/or shipping? Guessing mid/late 70s?

The 4th edition of the S&W Catalog lists 78-79 numbers as 25K0001-56K9999, so I'll guess at 78.

28K numbers were actually used in 1979. The sequence was not always consistent, so you can't just extrapolate how many might have been used in a given year.

For example, 26K through 34K were used in 1979, but 35K through 44K were actually issued in 1978.

The SCSW just gives estimates and ranges, so the numbers are roughly correct.
