I recently purchased a Model 67 no dash. It is an early all stainless sights gun. The serial # is 5K193xx. Can anyone give me an approx. year on this?
The back sights seem to be way out of adjustment, and I couldn't seem to get them right. What is the best distance from the target to start on this? Any tricks?
I paid $395.00 for this, and I know that it was probably a little high, but I have been wanting a stainless Smith for years. Not collector condition, but looks very nice, and functions well. It was calling me!
Any insight would be appreciated! Thanks, Bob

Here in WA, that price would be a bargain.

As far as sighting in goes, just use the distance you expect to do most of your shooting from.

Sorry I cannot give you a simple solution for fixing the sights. Just start close (3 to 7yds) and back up from there to as far as you think it should shoot to point of aim.

Your pistol was probably born in mid-1973 and should be a shooter. I have a slightly older one (4k101xx and it was earlier in 1973 according to the 3rd edition SCSW.

This 67 no dash is remarkably accurate. I had to pay the guy $475, but my wife REALLY wanted it. It's pristine. Made in 1974.
