Model 67 no dash

Great find! My uncle had one as his duty weapon. He had hoped he would be allowed to keep or buy it when he retired, didn't happen though.

My first Smith was a Model 15. Oh how much I still regret trading it off. A 4" K frame combined with .38 Special target rounds is a match made in heaven. Enjoy!

Just loaded up some DEWC with Bullseye and HP38 to try. Gotta get to the range and see what I got.

What was that gold finish?

Mine is a first year edition, 5K14XX. Stainless rear sight, a tough of Sharpie takes care of it. Front sight is also stainless.

I assumed some sort of gold plating. Took a lot of friction to get it off.

Good that you were able to bring that thing back.

the way it looked when you got it makes me think that maybe Crack Willie from uptown was a one time owner.

It does look like someone replaced the hammer with a wider one. And the hammer and trigger look case hardened. Mine has blue back sight, no insert on front sight, stainless looking .375 hammer and stainless trigger. It is an ex-police gun, and stamped so. Bought it years ago from the retired deputy along with box and holster.

how did you clean up the finish , looks great now with the clean up .

I believe the hammer and trigger were previously case hardened. They had been gold plated but were rusted. I cleaned them up and cold blued. The trigger is wide and serrated. Hammer is quite wide also.
