If by tensioned barrel you mean when did they stop the pinned barrel it was in 1982 and it was roughly half way through the run of 67-1 revolvers.

Is it true that since 1996 S&W introduce the round butt with model 67-3 ? And what´s about the accuracy with the older models 67 - 67-5, I don´t believe that only the 67-6 with new two piece barrel design are the most accurate 67er

The basic M-67 wiill shoot as well as you can, and then some. If you're good enough, it will cloverleaf bullets on target as far out as you can hold that well. You will have no trouble hitting a snake in the head, if YOU can shoot.

This holds for about any S&W .38 or .357. The target sights on the M-67 help.
