Model 681

I went to a small show in Las Vegas today and found a very clean 681. Grips are pristine and the gun does not look like it has been holstered or shot much.

Serial number 1983 production ??

Nice ! I found one back in June. What dash number is yours ?

Mine is a no dash and didn't have the 'M' recall. I sent it in had it done, took ~ 5 weeks.

Most excellent find. L-frames are my favorite Smiths, other than the K and N frames.

I have one , used lime green paint on front sight . Very accurate shooter .

I stopped going to that show because I found it to be a waste of time. Very little of interest and even fewer guns. Wouldn't you know a grail gun shows up? Can't make this stuff up.
