So I was coming back from testing out that Astra (excellent shooter btw) and I couldn't help but swing by my LGS.
And I saw it.
A 3" 686-6+. Seven rounds, used but never fired, sitting there alone. For $769. Lockup is tight, the sights are straight, and the pawl and cylinder look good. No turn line yet.
I had taken the my Colt 1911 out alongside the Astra, mostly because I don't carry it a lot. 1911s just don't stick with me for some reason. But at my LGS, this is an opportunity.
Guns were traded, I need a new holster. I still have a 1917 and a Rock Island 1911 to shoot off my stash of .45ACP; but tbh, I completely prefer the wheel gun even to JmB's masterpiece.
How did I do?
I also found an old JC Higgens Model 50 rifle (a Sears-marked FN commercial .30-06) that I'm putting on layaway for myself, with an eye toward trading my Mini 14 for it and some cash.
