Do you prefer the two-tone stock look of the model 69 or the modified look using SS screws and latch. Inquiring minds want to know. I kind of like the two-tone on my 4".

I didn't vote because I think there should have been a third category "either - don't care". With that said, every one should do whatever they desire to personalize their own firearm.
I'm a big fan of these L Frame .44s -- have both 4 1/4" and 2 3/4" versions. Wish they had been avail years ago (not possible then of course).
Had both out yesterday, and even after thousands of rounds, they still impress with handling qualities, accuracy, and recoil attenuation.

Where's the choice for "all of the above"?

Graphics artists and designers tend to avoid monochrome color schemes.
Just more visual interest if there are some contrasting accents on a stainless gun, IMO. Black screws, latch etc. do that on a 69.

Well since all the posters so far have come out for the 2 tone or indifferent, then I better expess my feelings. I think the black trigger, black cylinder release and black screws on the stainless gun are ugly and looks cheap. It's a big reason I don't own a 69. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. Whatever makes you happy.

Put me in the "I don't like the black" category! That is why I changed the screws and latch within days of receiving mine. I would change the trigger and hammer if suitable replacements were available.
As for changing the parts affecting resale value/original status, this a non issue for me, as I don't plan to sell my guns. My children can worry about this later if necessary.

I also swapped the cylinder release on my 329PD with a silver one to better match the titanium cylinder, giving the gun a little more contrast.

If anyone doesn't like the black trigger/hammer, you can always have them hard chromed. The process might also "slick up" the action a bit. I only looked up one source, but I know there are at least several that do this work. Metaloy, Industries - Professional Gun Finishing - hard chrome, blue and polymer finish
Like I said above, you should do whatever it pleases you to personalize your own firearm(s).
Don't let these minor cosmetics keep you from experiencing the joy of an L Frame .44 Mag.

Even though I don't care much for the 2 tone look I wouldn't change it if I owned the Model 69.I strive to keep my revolvers unaltered and as original as possible.
I went to buy a 2 3/4" Model 69 month ago at a big box store but the only one in stock had issues I couldn't accept.
I spent the money on a 3" Model 13-2 instead but will get the 69 once I find an acceptable one.
I own a 629-4 Backpacker,629-4 MG and a 696-0 so I'm in no rush.

I wasn't a big fan of the black accenting either.
However, I guess it was really only the screws and thumbpiece as the gun pictured above looks pretty good. So the hammer and trigger being black actually isn't too bad because they match the sights.
I'm still a sucker for the classic revolver styles though.

I have had the new 2.75" 66-8 for a few months and have come to actually like the black accents after being very unexcited about them.
