Make sure that you test the trigger extensively for safety after you adjust it. A local gunsmith adjusted the stock trigger at approximately 3 pounds on mine when my father bought it for me from him (used), and I missed out on big 6x6 elk at around 75 yards when the rifle discharged upon releasing the safety!
Found out if any pressure was placed on the trigger while in safe, the fireing pin would drop when the safety was taken off. Pounding the butt on the ground while on safe and then releasing the safety would cause the firing pin to drop at times. The rest of that hunt was conducted with an empty chamber!
