Model ID help - 32 Hand Ejector

Recently came across this gun, and would to know more about it, mostly year of manufacture.
There is no model number, dash # or Reg # to be found.
Here's what I DO know:
Hand Ejector
Serial # 679xx (no letters)
32 W.C.F. CTG
4" barrel
Fixed sight
Has strain screw
5 screws

I am thinking that this has been nickeled after original production. Any thoughts on that?

You have a .32-20 Hand Ejector, also known as a .32-20 Military & Police revolver. Your example probably dates to about 1915. At that time it might still have been referred to as a Model of 1905 .32-20 HE.

In any case, it clearly has been refinished in nickel plating. It may or may not originally have carried a nickel finish. Look on the bottom of the barrel. You will see the serial number on the flat. If there is a B in front of it, the gun was originally blued. If there is no letter, it was originally nickel plated.

The stocks on your revolver appear to be original, but they have been treated with some sort of shiny finish - not from the factory.

I think Jack's estimate is about right. I have #60677 which shipped in December 1913, this one originally in nickel. Sometime between my and your number (mine is very early for the .32 WCF CTG stamp), the caliber moved to the opposite side of the barrel.

Welcome to the Forum. Actually, you have a pretty nice looking refinished 32-20 HE. The gunsmith did a decent job, but should have left the hammer and trigger original case colored. I have bought K frame shooters in the past with nice re-nickel jobs like yours and was able to have the nickel removed from those parts to bring the gun back to a more original appearance. Fun guns to shoot.
