I've seen this one for the past couple of Michigan Antique Arms Collectors' Show. The temptation finally overcame me today. I've seen a few others but this one is by far the nicest. There were several other Brazilian contract models, but most of them looked like they'd been ridden hard and put away wet. This one is serialed 27xxx. From the serial number, I believe it would be early 1918. It has the original finish, sharp lettering on the roll marks, and the timing is spot on.

That 1917 looks in excellent condition - nice aquisition. Not too many in that condition these days. My 1917 in the 15,000 range was made early January 1918 so yours would not have been too far behind that.
Still has the early grips which changed at around serial 30,000. Note the acceptance mark GHS for Gilbert H Stewart Chief Ordnance inspector at that time. Imagine if the barrel is in the same condition as the exterior, she will shoot as good as she looks, mine does.

Outstanding.. You can be proud of that one.
