Model of 1950 44 Target Pre-Model 24, Question...

Here you go. Maybe I'm missing something?

They're definitely junk, can't imagine anyone putting them on a gun. Tell you what though, so that you're not embarrassed by them in the future, send them to me and I'll dispose of them properly. And, just to show what a great guy I am, I'll send you a set of correct diamond magnas for free.

I agree with you, Lyle...The OP's own photo shows the difference...:o...Ben

That dark line on the right hand grip caused it to look like one grip has a smaller amount of wood near the backstrap. If you zoom in, those grips look like a pair to me

It's OK to differ on our perceptions...I was not referring to the darker vertical stripe, but rather to the differing amounts of uncheckered wood showing below the checkered panels on either stock panel...:)...Ben

Bought this beauty, S100007 (~1954, not lettered), in Feb 2019. Paid a handsome price (well above current market) but the 1950 Model .44 Target was kinda popular at that time. Check out those non-relieved target stocks! I also have a sweet-shooting 24-3 in the original box, purchased in 2011 for $650, that I enjoy shooting now and then. It takes the sting out of the cost of the 1950 Model.

S142xxx would have put it close to when cokes started but it's my understanding that S&W did offer them on the 44 Target Mod of 1950.

My 44 Target (S103761) shipped with walnut stocks. Read that as magnas. When I got it it had post '68 magnas, so it now has NRT's Great gun and very accurate.
