MOE MLok vs. MOE SL handguard for M&P15 Sport II OR

I know MOE MLok is avail as factory option from S&W, but can slim line version also fit out of the box? Or would I need to use a Dremel?

It should mount right on without mods. Have the SL version on my standard Sport II, and it was a simple swap for the stock handguard.

Since Magpul states on their website "*Must be used with the triangular A2 front sight assembly, other gas blocks are not compatible ", I would not plan for it to work without some type of modification, either to the handguard itself or to your gas block. (This is for the MOE SL)

The Magpul MOE SL Handguard should fit if your handguard cap is round and looks like either of the first two pictured. Round notched or Round no notch. If it is triangle and looks like the last one pictured, it will not work.

With that said, like cyphertext said about Magpul saying you need the standard A2 front sight gas block. Since this is an Optics Ready, I am not quite sure it will work

That should work, no problem... You just have to watch out for anything that extends past the handguard cap or is made to surround the gas block.

Fits my OR... not a Sport or Sport 2 though.
