Is there a shortage of MOE model 15 22 rifles? My local dealers have the 811033 rifles but no 811034. Anyone know what's going on.

I doubt there's a shortage of the MOEs. They most likely sold out of them. I'm sure they're able to order you one if you ask.

I was told the suppliers were sold out as well. I don't know how long I can hold out....

MOE

I looked into getting the precision Center one or the A1, but none were available. What was available to my local shop was the MOE. I pick it up today!

I would bet its a regional distribution thing, and changes often.

I couldnt find ANY 15-22's in Houston (although i was impatient and didnt look too terribly hard), ended up finding ONE in Academy, the standard issue non-threaded barrel one. I'm happy either way.

There was a sale going on at a major Southern California firearms retailer a week ago for the MOE version. The sale started on Friday, and by Tuesday they were all sold out from all stores and their warehouse, and are now on back order.

Not sure if this affected the rest of the US or not, but that's what happened here.

I just ordered one today at my local shop, and they said there are plenty of them around...
I should have it by Thursday 3/10/11.

I live in NW PA

I couldn't find ANY M&P15-22's for sale locally. Everybody was sold of all models and awaiting orders from back to Jan. I found the MOE's in stock at Bud's but we'll see how soon they ship (ordered yesterday and still "pending" in their system).

I just picked up my MOE that was shipped from Bud's from my FFL last night.

I ordered her on Feb. 23, it was shipped on March 2, and arrived at my FFL yesterday, March 7.
That's the longest I've seen Bud's take to ship out a gun.
But to be honest, they do state on their website and when I ordered it, it would take 3-7 business days to ship.
And it did ship out on the 7th business day.

Funny thing:
I was watching their site before and after I ordered my MOE, and in the past 3 weeks, they have gone back and forth from in stock to out of stock a good 7-8 times.
And the price has gone back and forth from a low of around $485 to a high of about $520, and everywhere in between.

I don't know what dictates price changes that occur that frequently, or how they go out of stock and get restocked that quickly, but it has been interesting watching it change so often.

For the record, I jumped on mine when it got down to $487, and am glad I did it then.
With +3% for credit card, insurance and FFL costs, I was out the door for right at $520.

Yeah, everybody is ga-ga about Bud's - they have such great service. Frankly I'm highly unimpressed so far. My MOE I ordered mid last week hasn't even shipped yet.

I don't understand how in 2011 a company can justify taking so long to ship an "in stock" item. Somehow Amazon can ship orders same day but it takes Bud's a week and a half. It says on their website that long guns take longer to ship because they are stored in the back of their warehouse. Lame excuse.

I was a bit miffed by the 3% "credit" surcharge even when paying with a debit card. There are a number of other online sellers that don't play games with their prices and from what I hear ship in a couple days.

This is the last order I will place with Bud's.

(And no, it isn't FFL issues. My FFL's paperwork is already on file at Bud's.)

My MOE is on a UPS truck! :) The Bud's order sat "processing" for a full seven days after my order. On the evening of day seven I got an email that the "order had been sent to our shipping department" and this morning I have a tracking number - woohoo!

So, I speculate Bud's "in-stock ships 3 - 7 days" is what most other online vendors (Sears, Buy.com, Amazon.com) call 3-7 day backorder. Meaning they have stock on the way or can get it from their distributor but it isn't actually in their warehouse and available to ship.

I've read others had the same issue with Buds taking a full 7 days or more to ship out the 15-22. So, if you order from them figure you'll see your gun in a week and a half to two weeks.

It's been particularly frustrating for me b/c my local FFL got one on Mon. morning but my order was already in with Bud's.

Sounds like you had the same experience with them as I did.
No big problem for me, since I wasn't on a time crunch.

I knew before I placed my order that that was their policy, so it wasn't much of a problem for me.

But I understand the frustration with the slow shipping times, especially when I have ordered from them before and it take a lot less time.

That's why I've been using Davidson's. You see if the item is in stock (not allegedly in stock, but actually in stock) and it ships to your local dealer the day you place the order. Handguns go overnight and long guns go ground, but they still ship the day you place the order.

Hope it arrives soon, what does your local dealer charge you help you do the deal?
