mold for 38 S&W

I am the new owner of a fine old, (new to me) Victory 38 S&W. I am now looking for a 158 grn. casting mold that will drop .362-.363 bullets. Ill then size them to .360 to fit this ol gal. I've looked on line this evening and am coming up empty.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Go to the Cast-Boolits forum. Look around, then ask Questions. Custom mold makers are making the mold you seek.............

NOE has a group buy for a 360 154gr flat nose bullet. NOE is a bullet mold maker. I may get in on that. Guy could size them any way he wanted to.

I have an older Lyman/Ideal # 358331, its a round nose that depending on alloy falls at 150 to 166 grains at .361"-.363". With straight wheel weight alloy it falls at 162 grain at .361". With a RCBS .38-150-KT a nice SWC with wheel weight alloy falls at 155 grains at .362". For the .38 S&W I size them at .360" with SPG lube with good results out of my 33-1. The new Lyman moulds however seem to run them small diameter (lucky to get stated diameter) these days. The new RCBS moulds run them a few thousand over stated diameter.

Your other two options are Tom at Accurate Molds and Bernie at Old West Molds. Tom will cut any of his designs to your diameter specs., and you are likely to have a mold within a week! Bernie has the original Old West catalog so has the original molds for this caliber.

Don't worry too much about bullet diameter. For many years, I used .357-.358 lead bullets of various weights and styles for reloading the .38 S&W with good success. Additionally, hollow-base wadcutters work very well in .38 S&W, seated about halfway out.

That works and my WC mold drops them at .360 with the alloy I use.

I like light bullets in 38 S&W. I have a home made mold I found at a flea market that throws a 126gn SWC .361. I think they were trying for a 9x19 bullet and lapped the mold too much but it works great in my 38 S&W revolvers.

I have an old 7 gang Ideal mold for a solid wadcutter it is marked 360 344 If I recall the catalogue listed it at 160 grain give or take. If you want it send me a pm.
