Moon clip help needed

I have a 5" 610 that has set in my safe wayyyyy too long. The gun came with 3 moon clips and at one time I picked up a few more. The Clips that I picked up seem too thick and I cannot close the cylinder.
Before getting more moon clips I need to know what to look for and what NOT to buy!!

moonclips.com has the correct .035 clips. It also can make a difference with different brands of brass.

Moonclips.com are very seriously proud of their product. They want around $7 each for my gun. Not doubting their worth, but I'd call S&W. They have clips for my model for $1.32 each. I can lose or break a lot of moon clips and not be concerned if I can get 5-6 for the price of one.

Call Ranch Products and ask them if they have it. I believe they also make for S&W. Order 50 or 100 for less per.

Old school operation, so you have to call, and pay by phone or check I think. But they are top notch and legit.

Order them from S&W and stop fooling around with after market junk.

My S&W clips are 28 thousandths. I know that's not quite as thick as some aftermarket clips, but they work. The only people I have ever really heard griping about the factory clips are the Taurus 905 owners. I have never had a 905, so I don't know how thick or flimsy they are.

Yes. These work great with my 625JM.

I hate moonclips The last 25 I owned I used 45AR
cases and reloaded them,after that I got rid of the 25
and never looked back,if I want 45 I will use my Colt

I would also check your clips to see if they haven't developed a slight bend. This happened with some full moon clips I had for my 625. A little bend back and they worked great.

Moonclips? I got some stinkin' moonclips... and I don't 'like' them, either!

Nope, I don't just like moonclips... I LOVE them! I've bought hundreds of them from Ranch Products, too - and never a defective one, either. I bought blued CS, so they were oily. Okay, just in 625 type six slot .45 ACPs and X8 .357M 627 style, but I have really bought hundreds of them - and S&W still uses them for their source, too. Did I mention that they are nice folks to deal with, too?

If a steel moonclip doesn't fit a particular case - try another brand of case. Starline .45 ACPs and .38/.357N's fit easiest of all.
