Thanks to all of you who have mentioned the Moon Clip Tool in other posts. You saved me a lot of money over a Moonsetter and Demooner. The Moon Clip Tool does both in one tool for less money and works like a charm. It's actually fun mooning and demooning with this product because it actually works and its so quick and easy. That, in this day and age, is a breath of fresh air. Thanks again for your recommendations of such a fine product.

I use Starline brass, Ranch Products moonclips, and Brownells nutdriver-style demooner. The brass/moonclip combo goes together easily in both .357M x 8 (627) and .45 ACP x 6 (625) by hand. Turning the cartridge while pushing it into the clip is easy. The nutdrivers hold 8 x .357Ms or 6 x .45 ACP empties within, making demooning easier - and then just 'dump' the nutdriver's collection into a Ziploc bag to carry home for cleaning.

Brass runs $120/$140 for .357/.45 ACP per thousand delivered from Starline, while Ranch products moonclips are $35/$75 per hundred delivered for .45 ACP/.357M x 8 in oiled blue steel. The Brownells moonclips were $15 each, I think. I like the looks of the new tool, and aluminum is great, but - I tried an expensive de-mooner nearly seven years ago just to have it's phenolic handle crack the second time I used it. I'll stick withn my method.

I have tried a number of moonclip tools over the years and the MOONCLIP TOOL is by far the most clever and thoughtful design. Robust construction is another plus.
I use mixed brass and Ranch Products moonclips in 6x45 ACP, 8x357, 6x40, 6 x 38 Super and 6x357 - they all work well with this tool with a simple interchange of the center stud.

Unsolicited testimony

I've used my Moon Clip Tool for a couple years with multiple arbors.

I wish everything worked as well as this little gem.
