So I just got a 627 v-comp. Been looking at different moon clips to get for it. I talked to someone at ranch products about there's and they were nice enough to send a free one to me before I bought some.after I got it and load it the Bullets are loose and hard to load with any speed. I also use a 158swc and the lip of the bullet caches the cylinder. The three clips that came with the gun hold the bullets nice and tight. Those of you that reload what type of Bullets and moon clips do you use?

Round nose bullets = speed of reloading. Bullet wobble is preferred over no wobble. Hold the gun vertically when unloading and reloading. Allow gravity to help. Most importantly, practice, practice and more practice. Federal cartridge cases are easier to clip than Winchester.
Different brands of brass will fit tighter/looser in the .38/.357 moons.
You can buy better (tighter) moonclips than ranch and pay up to $5 each for them. If you are a top competition shooter, I would spend the money.
I have always used Ranch in my moonclipped guns (when I could) and had no problems.
Mrs. Airedale used to shoot a 686 in .38 Super and everytime someone stepped on a moonclip I saw $4 going down the drain.

I've had success with the Hearthco Match moonclips in my PC 627-5 ...

They're thicker than stock and don't allow for much wiggle. I prefer them this way, and use mine for duty, off-duty and competition.

I got my moon clips from Brownells and use them with mixed brass with no problems at all. Go to RN bullets as the SWC will always hang up. For falling steel try 4.0 Bullseye with a 158 RN head.

I use steel full moon clips in my 625's (.45 ACP). They do work differently depending on the brass (that is no fault of the clips but brass just varies a bit between brands).
You don't have to use round nose bullets - truncated cone bullets also work just as well and give better terminal performance (whether shooting pins or for self defense). As a for instance, I use Lee's six cavity mould for their 230 gr TC (with normal lube groove) with excellent results. There are similar bullets available for the .38/.357's.
You might also look into the use of LBT WFN or FLN designs, they should also work well.
As with most things I have done, good practice, often applied, will make you MUCH more proficient.

I would be remiss if I failed to mention the RIMZ polymer full moon clips. I use them regularly for range use. They require NO tools and easily load and unload with the fingers.

One tip when ordering Ranch Products steel full moon clips - call them on the phone and order. It is MUCH easier. The last ones I bought only cost about $35.00 per hundred, delivered.

Using 38 brass works with less wobble than 357 mag, and the shape of this one works better for me than either RN or SWC of any weight.

You don't need lots of moonclips if you're going to shoot a Steel Challenge type match. If you're hitting what you're shooting at you should never have to do a fast reload. I use those rubber contraptions (I can never think of the name) when I shoot steel and don't bother with moonclips.
Hearthco moonclips are probably the best but I think they are made thicker specifically for use with Starline brass and will not work with anything else.
I use Ranch moonclips and they work best with Federal or Remington brass.
