looking for suggestions on how to carry loaded moon clips to the range. other than just putting them in a range bag loose.thanks

Very unimaginative, I use zip lock bags to keep them separated in my range bag.

I bought a 9x13 plastic food pan, a like-sized pad of dense foam and cut out 16 holes in the same diameter as my loaded moonclips for the 625-8 that I love so much. Including the loaded moonclip in the gun, that equals a cool 102. I suppose one could even use that set-up for each particular bullet style/load etc.

One of our members, a pharmacist, found some tall pill bottles that would hold three or four loaded clips.

I like that idea pill bottles.. or maybe a small section of pvc pipe. got me thinking now!!! thanks for the replys...

I use a wooden dowel, just slightly smaller in diameter than the hole in the center of the moon clips. You just stack the clips on the dowel. You can make the dowel as long or short as you need... Mine fits perfectly in my range bag because I made them just the right length. One end has a wooden disk the same diameter as the moon clip itself, held in place with a wood screw. I always point the bullet end of the loaded cartridges at the wooden disk. The other end has a hole in it that takes a 1/4 inch metal pin, the pin being held in place by a spring clip - this is the type of pin people use to hold the latch in place on their trailer hitch (when they are using the "lock type" pins)... You can find them just about anywhere trailer accessories are sold.

On the range itself, I use HKS speedloader pouches, size large. Each pouch will hold 2 fully loaded .45ACP moonclips. So, 2 pouches equals 4 reloads.

I use a plastic fishing lure box obatianable at many sports stores. If I cannot find one of the exact dept required for the laoded moonclip I purchase one a bit larger and the place a piece of cardboard on the top of the loaded moons. I can see every loaded moonclip and the bullet never touches the primer

i use a tupperwear container with a lid....holds about a dozen loaded moonclips
