I love my S&W 625-2, I love .45ACP, .45GAP, and .45 Super, and I love using moon clips, but I despise Blazer ammo with lousy aluminum foil hulls! Unfortunately, I stocked up on that c*** a few months ago when .45GAP was readily available and half the cost of .45ACP (that is no longer true, BTW).

I guess I outsmarted myself. When I try to put that c*** in the moon clips, it falls right out. The hulls are thin enough to wrap a baking potato in.

I'm using a mixture of the common brands of steel moons - Speed Beez and I'm not even sure what else.

Does anyone out there have any helpful suggestions for me?
.... Please?....

Rimz makes plastic moon clips that a lot of people like for range use because they are easy to load & unload by hand. Being made of plastic they should work well with the aluminum cased ammo - even aluminum is tougher than most plastics.

GO TO MOONCLIPS.COM. TOM HAS DIFFERENT THICKNESS OF MOONCLIPS LISTED FOR DIFFERENT AMMO. IF THE AMMO IS NOT LISTED GIVE HIM A CALL. IT'S ONLY HIM AND HIS GRANDSON THERE AND ASK. THE'LL KNOW WHATS BEST. JP

If you can't get the correct thickness moon clips ... might be time to get a 1911 ... no stinking moon clips required !
My old AMT Hardballer stainless steel 1911 will shoot the blazer ammo just fine .
Tried it a few times but since I reload I prefer brass cases .
I'm sure other 1911's will handle the blazer ammo .

Never let a good excuse to buy a new / used gun go to waste !!!

I don't use Blazer in moonclips. Some years back, I broke a demooner trying to get fired Blazer out of the moonclips because it stuck.

If it's the extractor groove in the cases that are too small in dia and not allowing the moon clip to snap into place,,you might be able to take a couple of the clips and place small 'stake' marks on the leading edges at the opening to each slot.
That would close the opening just a bit and make the round snap into place and stay put. But not so hard that they can't be easily removed once fired.

I'd try it on one clip and see if it works before doing a bunch of them.
If it doesn't work it's not much to remove the stake marks on the one clip and return it to it's orig configuration.
