More M&P woes, is this normal?

The man said this was a replacement gun from S&W that replaced a M&P with a cracked frame. It did not come from a store. It is a great idea to inspect any gun you buy from a store or a person for the money you have give for guns today.

Reading previous posts before posting is apparently against the rules.

Excuse me, but the original post read:
Just picked up my new M&P the other day. It was a replacement for my last M&P that had a cracked frame (brand new gun as well).
To me, 'Picked Up' seems to imply that he had to go to a Store/FFL to pick it up (as opposed to it having been sent to his house and signed for).
Same Inspection before Accepting applies here, Especially since it's a replacement pistol. This pistol never would have left the "store" (FFL).
So... right Back at you. ;) :)

Come on guys, calm down.

I hate to sound like a broken record, but this is why I inspect a new pistol before finishing the paperwork and handing over my money. This pistol would not have made it out of the store.

That's what I tell my customers. If they are good with it I'll start the paperwork.

And getting upset and arguing about implied meanings is rule number 2 :)
and pointing out the 'Rules' is rule #3? :D
Nothing to calm down about on my end...
I'm not upset... If I were, I wouldn't include a 'smiley'. ;)

You got it (wish there was a laugh emoticon, it's all good). I was just trying to inject some humor, everyone seems so serious all the time.

I usually do look over everything pretty good before I do the paperwork, but I just didn't think to field strip it and check the barrel. Honestly I mainly just checked the frame since that was the issue I had with the last pistol. Even if I had noticed the issue and not accepted the pistol, I probably would have ended up waiting several weeks for another replacement. As stated the new gun did have to go through my FFL since it was a different serial number.

Small consolation, but I am going to my FFL (not a store!)....and I'm not sure if I'm PICKING it up or what () but I plan on inspecting the heck out of it before I sign the paperwork! So you trials and tribulations will hopefully prevent some other poor guy having to go through what you are.....please continue to post and tell us how it goes. I now know to pay particular attention to the slide, barrel (like yours), and feed ramp....all these issues have been mentioned regarding the Shield on various posts. It's a shame S&W issues pistols that have these errors........but they do ship thousands of Shields, and I suppose at the price we ought to expect the occasional glitch.

Ha, glad I could help. Make sure and check the inside of the magwell as well:eek:

Got my shipping notice, looks like my pistol will be here tomorrow.

Waited around all day today and no pistol. When I rechecked the tracking I saw a delivery exception with an incorrect address notice. Turns out S&W put the wrong address on the package. I called Fedex and got it straightened out I think. Maybe tomorrow I'll get my gun back.

Awe man...the hits just keep on comin'.

Can you have them hold it at the FedEx place and pick it up directly? You know tomorrow when the guy comes to deliver it you're not gonna be home or on the throne right...LOL!!!

You've definitely win for having the most issues right out of the gate.

Hang in there.

Man, I'm really sorry this is happening to you. I hope the new one or repair is up to snuff.

S&W has really been slipping lately. There is no way that barrel should ever have been delivered to you.

Got my M&P back today. Took exactly one month. They replaced the barrel. The new one looks good from what I can tell. Hopefully there won't be any more issues.

Time to test it out. If your weather is anything like ours it's a great day to go to the range providing it's indoors. We're having rain, cold & wind. The range is on my list of things to do today but unfortunately it's on the bottom, LOL.

Good luck, Mike!
