Picked this one up in Columbia last weekend. It was so pretty I had to get it. From what I can tell, it is a .32 Hand Ejector 3rd Model s/n
145828. It is in excellent shape, only one blemish in the nickel, which makes me think it may have been re-done, but markings and logo are super crisp and defined. The grips are in great shape, I think they are mother of pearl, but not sure. Would like to see what they look like on a blued gun, but dont have one at the moment. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y75/RIKKN/IMG_0408.jpg[/img] ] http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y75/RIKKN/IMG_0407.jpg[/img] ] http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y75/RIKKN/IMG_0406.jpg[/img] ]

Great little gun! From the pictures, you may have a non-factory nickel finish, perhaps a re-nickel. The tipoff is the nickeled hammer and trigger. These had a case-hardened finish when they left the factory. Also (I can't tell from your photos), the extractor star is always blued as it comes from the factory, even if the original finish was nickel. Only a factory letter, available from S&W for $30, will tell you what the original finish was.

Again, nice little gun! Pretty and should be fun to shoot!

Nice little revolver. I'd love to find one like that.

Despite the non factory refinish, it's a pretty little thang'. The stocks look more like ivory than pearl....probably these old eyes.

Still a handy pocket revolver, usually found with excellent actions. But be careful, those little .32's are like jelly beans or potato chips. One is never enough! Congrats on a nice catch!

I'm not sure that gun is REnickeled. The hammer and trigger may just be faded("silvered").
Can you do some better pics?

I will try to take some better pics. Not sure if the grips are pearl or ivory - how do I tell ?? As far as the nickel, I have seen re-done guns and the markings have never been this crisp, I will bring it to the greenville show next weekend, hope to learn more about it.

OK Experts, how do I tell if the grips are mother of pearl or ivory ?? Real or not ?? Kinda look pearly to me....Also, any opinions on value of the grips if real ? grip/gun combo ? Or should I find some nice woods to put on it ??

Rikkn, pull off the stocks, turn one over exposing the backside. Heat a needle or pin red-hot and touch it to the grip briefly IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STOCK. If nothing happens then you have Pearl. If you get smoke and smell hair burning, it's Ivory. If you smell Plastic, it's plastic. This is slightly destructive so be sure NOT to burn the areas where the stocks or medallians and frame mate.
