Years ago, Mossberg I believe made a semi auto for skeet. 26" bbl, and a tula choke I believe. Anybody know the correct model number?

Oh, and I am not thinking of a browning 2 shot automatic

Thanks

Only one I can think it may have been would be Mossbergs Model 712.
It was a gas op semi auto,,but it never made it to actual production/mass market. That was around '85/86.

You won't find much of anything about them as far as info.
Searches will often lead you to the CZ712 shotgun which is also a gas-op 12ga.
Some AI responses say it's the same gun.
I have no idea if that is so. The CZ is made in Turkey. MAybe the design laid around a while and was picked up finally and used (?)
I don't have any info on the orig Mossberg 712 as far as specs other than it had, according to one listing I found a variable gas port system. Bbl options were 22" and 24" according to that source.

If you are looking for a Semi-Auto for Skeet consider a Remington 1100. I have used most of the various makes over the years of my clay shooting including tubed O/U's and found the 1100 has no equal for Skeet.

Not sure of how many years ago you might be referring to, but in the mid-80's, I think, Mossberg sold a Model Super 1000 that included a skeet version. It was made and imported from Japan, and is identical to the Smith & Wesson Model 1000.
