Just read Mossberg will offer a striker-fired 9MM single stack pistol for 2019. Guns will feature a 3.4 inch barrel with 6+1 and 7+1 extended magazines. Features models with Tru-Glow Tritium Pro sights as well as a lazer sight option. M.S.R.P. of $425 but expected to be in the $350 price range depending on the model. First handgun in a long time for Mossberg.

Looking forward to the photos. Wonder if this will make the Brownies high-ticket collector's items? :)

Photos are on the Mossberg website. Looks a bit like a Ruger LC9S.

I thought the same
6+1 or 7+1 w the extended mag

I find it interesting that they entered the highly competitive market on concealed semi autos.

If they follow the same pricing & quality strategy as the shotguns , I expect Mossberg to disrupt the market.

The 500 ,590 series , even the Maverick 88 are just about the best shotgun product / value that is available. I have been a lifelong fan and user......

At first I was excited to hear that Mossberg was making a new pistol, but alas, it's just another striker-fired single-stack 9mm.

If I wanted one of those then I would have chosen one already from the endless selection currently available.

It looks more like the Ruger SR9c to me.

Agree with the crowded concealable market for this type of 9MM. Mossberg had better build a better "mousetrap" to compete in the field. Have to wait and see overall views and opinions.

And it can use Glock magazines!

Seriously it will run with Glock 43 magazines. The clear plastic Mossberg mags look a bit sketchy.

It also takes SIG sights.

I think it looks Glock-like, and undercuts the MSRP of the equivalent G-## by quite a few dollars. No way to tell if it will be a success but I wish them good luck.

They're also going to offer a version with a cross-bolt safety - something Glock has offered to (at least) some police departments overseas. I think it looks like a Ruger SR9c got a little to close to a Taurus one night ... ;) ... but I like the heck out of the safety and mag interchangeability!

Glock 43 mags
Sig sights

"Franken-9"

that made me LOL
sorry - its still early

I believe Mossberg is "late to the party"! Both the Glock 43 and the new Mossberg are all but "obsolete" and a mile behind the Sig P365! The 3rd release of the Sig has apparently proven to the gun-world that the problems they had have been solved. I've got 800 hundred trouble free rounds of many types of ammo though it with ZERO malfunctions of any kind! The Sig holds 10 + 1 and 12 + 1 depending on your State, double the new Mossberg and Glock 43! While it may prove to be a descent Micro - you just can't argue with 11 or 13 rounds in a smaller 17.8 oz. pistol with really good night sights that is a pleasure to shoot!!

How exactly does the P365 render the G43 or the MCIsc obsolete?

While I applaud Mossberg for getting out of their usual one and attempting to break into a different market, like chief38 mentioned, Mossberg is a day late and a dollar short. That isn't to say that it won't be a solid gun or that ppl won't buy it, I just don't see it making a big splash on the ccw scene.

Because the Sig is lighter, smaller, has better sights (night sights) and holds 10+1 in the same sized gun that is +P rated. The Sig's metal is all Stainless with a Nitron coating (very tough) and has full sized rails. There are also 12 round Mag's available for it if you live in a less restrictive State. So why would one want to carry another gun that is the same size or slightly larger that holds half the amount rounds?

I will agree that maybe the word (obsolete) was not the correct one to use, because obviously the Glock 43 can still be used if already owned, however a Pistol with double the rounds and +P rated pretty much makes the Glock & Mossberg in a different class - at least IMO.

I like a mid to full size carry gun , but just for the hec of I may jump on the Moss when I see one . I have the Shield L/E package 3 mags and night sights , no safe ,it shoots great and had no problems but I do not pack it much . I will hit the gun shops Mon if I see one might take it home .
