With the temperature hovering in the single digits in the Kansas late antlerless only season it quickly became apparent to me that a 13.5" LOP was too much for 6 layers of clothes.
That's why I'm now the owner of a Mossberg Patriot Super Bantam in .243 Win. It has a synthetic stock with a 1" spacer so I can adjust it for either 12" or 13" LOP depending on my needs. (and possibly for the grandson some day)
It came with a 3-9x40 scope that was 'bore sighted' so I started at 25 yards which was a good thing because it was 2" right and 6" low from that distance. By the time the rain came I had it on at 50 yards which should be 3/4" high at 100 and dead on again at 150 yards with the load I was using.
It's a nice shooting, inexpensive, lightweight little rifle that I hope to enjoy for several years.
