I like my 8" AOW 12g...I think I need one of these Shockwaves as its bigger brother....

Pardon the thread drift, but I've seen several mentions of the doohicky that aids in feeding the Aguila mini shells. Is this a somewhat universal device, or is it model-specific?

I have an old, cheap but reliable S&W 916 with an 18 inch barrel, and the prospect of loading 8+ shells is interesting.

It appears the "Opsol" device is for Mossberg/Mossberg type only.
IIRC, Aguila mini is 1-3/4" and requires the Opsol. Nobel makes a mini shell that's slightly longer (2-1/4") that reportedly doesn't require an adaptor.

It isa Mossberg/Maverick specific design. You could possibly fit it to another brand if it had a skeletonized elevator. The function of the device is to provide a bumper for the mini shell as it exits the magazine tube. With the shorter length and lighter payload, they are unstable in their orientation on the elevator without the device. They can flip around and become reverse oriented and unable to chamber properly. These rounds eject rearward loaded and forward when empty so a big change in center of gravity.

I just picked up some exotic shorty #4 buck that is 1 3/4 from Cheaper than Dirt. Haven't shot them yet.
