I have been shooting Winchester white box 100rd packs in my 9VE and the groups seem to be more like patterns.
I shot a box of Federal FMJ and can put the whole mag in a silver dollar sized group at 10 yards from a rest. Definitely makes a difference in group sizes with the $10-11 Federal FMJ ammo.

For just range use, I have been using the Monarch 115gr FMJ that Academy Sports sells. They are selling them for 10.49 for a box of 50. It comes out a little less than the Federal. So far I have put alot thru it and never had a failure to fire, jam or anything with them. The accuracy has been really good too. They are far more accurate than I am, that is for sure. I have tried almost every brand of ammo and the only round that I have had problems with is the range reload rounds made by Atlanta Arms. Other than those, this thing will eat everything that you put in it.

I've shot hundreds of rounds of the Monarch steel case ammo in IDPA spread out across my Sigma, CZ 75B and a new to me Springfield XD. Seems accurate enough for the game and never a malfunction.

I can do cast reloads cheaper but with the steel case stuff I don't suffer the compulsion to pick up brass.

Yea, I shot both from a rest. No falilures to feed/fire/eject. the Federal is just more accurate in my pistol. Haven't tried the Monarch yet but for less than 50 cents more per box, I'd rather shoot brass cased ammo in it.
If I do any reloading for it it will be to load some XTP HP bullets in it instead of buying the expensive self defense ammo. the Remington 100rd boxes of HP ammo is not that much more than the WWB ammo at 24.95/box vs. 21.95 for the 100rd WWB.
Other pistols might like the WWB ammo better than the Federal.

I doubt that the gun has much to do with it. I've noticed WWB has had some quality control issues lately. It goes in cycles, and can happen with any if they put out a bad batch.
For awhile Rem put out some econo .22s that were oversized and wouldn't chamber in, ironically, the better guns.

There are 2 different rounds that Monarch sells. The cheaper rounds that are $9.49 are the steel case the ones for $10.49 are brass. I would never use the steel rounds. But the brass ones are great.

OK, just surprised you could see much of a difference at 10 yards.

Well, I wanted to practice some close range shots and with 7 yards as the "official" gun fighting distance, I figured 10 yards would be a little more distance. I figure I'll try not to let any one intent on doing me harm any closer than 30 feet.
Normally I test at 25 yards and out to 50 yards with my 44 mag and hot loaded 45 Colt ruger.
I use a 1" orange dot for a bullseye.

I have used the Monarch steel in my 9mm with great success. I actually qualified for my CHL with this combination and shot 50/50. The extractor in the Sigma is the same design as its boxy Austrian cousin and is plenty strong for steel cases.

Monarch steel is on sale for $7.99/box this week.

I'm up over 300 rounds with my SD9, and someone mentioned steel-case ammo. I traded my .38 revolver for something else and had 200 rds. of 38s lying around, and swapped em for 200 Wolf Steel-case, fired a box of them with no issues. So I've used 4 different types now, none were the good stuff, and not a failure yet. Love this pistol.
