Moving -not moving

For months i have been talking about moving back to New York because our family is up there and my son and his wife had a baby. Our first grandkid >> Our house is up for sale and so are my guns. We just found out that my daughter that lives near us in Delaware is going to have a baby.
Maybe we will not move. If we don't move -i don't need to sell my guns anymore. I sold 3 of my guns already//!!!! I just sold my Ruger mark 111 and sent it out today.

Why would you get rid of your guns if you're moving to NY? Stay out of the NYC area and the rest of the state is just fine.

Now, if you want to be equidistant from both of them and say you moved to NJ, I could understand feeling hassled to some degree.

Move to PA. striking distance to NY and DE and gun friendly.

Even if I had to live in a cardboard box I would not move to a place that treats gun owners like New York does.

Good luck with your move, etc. There will be adjustments. There always are. Put your family first. Everything else is everything else. And I do mean, everything! For you can get another house. And if necessary, you can get another hobby. But family... your wife and children are what make life worth living! God gave them to you. Don't let anything take their place!

With Gov. Cuomo's attitude toward guns, I wonder if the Conn. confiscation just getting underway there will likely spread to NY, and maybe other northeast states as well. There is nothing going on in that group of states that gives a 2nd Amendment supporter anything to feel optimistic about.

Yep. New Castle, Newark,De., Elkton, Md., even Kennett Sq., Pa. (mushroom capital of the US) for a bit.

Well I know there are many factors involved in deciding this important issue. But if it were me, and all things were equal on everything else I'd stay the heck out of New York. If I had to live one place and visit the other no matter what I decided, then I'd stay where I was and visit New York. I wish you luck in your decision.

Just me but I would stay right were I am. Delaware to NY is not that far a drive, Amtrack ride, of flight. If you stay put you can visit the new Grand babies, spoil them rotten then pass them back to M&D when you need a break, which you will sooner than you think.

I'm with you 100%. It's the wife!!! I'm at the point were i just told her to go. Pack your bags -take the car and get OUT !!!!!
I'm 60 and tired of fixing up the house and selling it after doing 10 years of hard work and putting in over 100k into the house.
Don't know what to do.
Your kids don't want to see there mom n dad all the time. My wife just doesn't get it. I know the problem. She has a hard time making friends. I can.... I want to stay right here and then for a month or two--go rent in Florida for the winter.
I'm so screwed.. Take away my guns my boat now my life..

Out of all this, think money. I know NY taxes are brutal. It will effect everything you do from hobbies and discretionary spending to housing, groceries, etc.
