This company makes a like of moving targets including one for taking headshots at a perp behind a hostage.

When I was actively shooting Long Range Precision, I ended up on a course for Sniper Challenge. The shot was 350+ yards downhill about 75 yards of elevation change, plus over a hidden stream (causes updrafts on hot summer days), from a simulated steep rooftop. The target was roughly life-size woman with 5" red "Bad guy" head over her shoulder (it flipped to opposite shoulder after every hit. Time allowed was 30 seconds from taking position for 3 shots. The sniper guys said it was a difficult target, with my scoped bolt-action 308, I found 4 shots very easy and almost had a 5th shot in the time frame! Fun the first time, got old quick!

Along with 100 yard and shorter ranges the outdoor range in Cheyenne where I have a membership, Otto Road, has a 1000 yard range with target positions at every 100 yards that gradually rises from the firing line with grass and scrub brush covering much of the uneven terrain.
Together with the constant winds of varying strengths this can make it difficult to dial in a rifle and maintain accuracy but it also attracts a number of shooters eager to challenge the conditions.
The range also sponsors a SASS Cowboy Action competition each year that's open to the public and fun to watch.
