MP 15-22, a good buy?

when i got mine back, on the paperwork they told me what they fixed. Also, after Academy sent it off, i called s&w quite a bit. The last time i called they told me it had been returned, and gave me the tracking #. Best of luck.

I hope they give me some details, I want to know it all.

Update:
I am concerned they didn't properly troubleshoot the rifle and I will get it back in the same condition.

Some firearms just never work quite right. Your rifle may be one of them. I had a Walther like that so I traded it. There's a guy on this board who speaks well of his Marlin 60. Maybe he'll trade with you? :p

Please, please don't tell me I might have a lemon on my hands.

Update:

Gander Mountain got my rifle back from S&W. I will be picking it up on Friday and hopefully firing it on Saturday. Hopefully it works.

That was a quick turnaround. They must have had your gun on high priority.

Any theories why that would be?

1. They sensed you were having withdrawl from not having your rifle. :D
2. They added extra techs to work on the 15-22s. :)
3. They are getting caught up on repairing the 15-22s :)
4. They wanted to get the rifle out of there that had a live round in chamber when received. :p
5. They could not duplicate any bad issues.

That put a smile on my face, thanks. ;)

Lol, and remember the rifle uses magazines, not clips. And hopefully S&W will have sent you an extra magazine or two for your inconvenience.

Well I would be very happy if S&W gives me an extra mag or two, but I am going to ask the people at Gander Mountain for restitution. I spent $700 for the rifle, ammo, and accessories. Plus I will have made about 3 rounds trips back and forth between the store, which equals out to 300 miles. I think for all the money I spent on fuel alone they should give me a free brick of any ammo I chose for my rifle.

Good luck this time around!!!!

Thanks Shooter, I will have the results by Saturday when I get my rifle on the range. I will be picking up this rifle on Friday.

Go for it. Tell them the forum members on SW.com agree that you should get some ammo for your trouble.

Hi All,
First of all I am not on here trying to run down any product..However I must say I have a GSG-5 and just purchased a MP 15-22...I have had a lot of fun with the GSG...the SW 15-22 jams all the time...tried 2 differant ammo,s....Just not happy with the gun....

thats because you have the same problem that alot of us have had right out of the box with the 15-22. You'll have to send it in, take about 4 weeks or less these days it seems to get it back, and you'll love it. Thats what i had to do, and the gun has been awesome since its return.

I am with YOU

If I get it back in working order I think I will forget my troubles quickly, but it would be nice if Gander Mountain went the extra mile and threw me a free brick of ammo.

Absolutely agree, but if it works when I get it back and I get some restitution I will let it go.
