Yes, standard AR-15 10, 20 & 30 round mags will fit the Sport. The Sport has the same dimensional specs as all other AR-15's so rails, mounts, hand guards, etc. will fit it also.Does anyone know if normal (Armalite, Colt) AR v15 mags will work in a MP 150 Sport I am awaiting delovery of? Hate tobuy new ones if the ones I already have will work properly.
That all AR mags fit in the Sport is a cruel tease to those of us in CA. Seeing all those 30-round P-Mags on sale for less than I pay for my 10-rounders is depressing. Haha

I just bought some 20 rd mags that have the 10 rd limiters installed but the base plate is still removable making it easy to convert the mags to 20 rds if I move out of state.
Hi...a newbie here. Are the pmags on sale at Palmetto Armory in desert tan (temporarily out of stock rite now) the right ones for the 15 Sport?
Thanks, Pete
No Sport yet, but looking !
If you don't mind me asking, how much were those mags? I can get 10 round metal mags from Midway or 44mag.com for $11.50 on sale...pretty much the same price as a 30-round USGI or a sale priced PMag. But all the limited-20 or 30 round mags are $20 and up.
Also, I've been told and read that if you can convert it back to hi-cap it's still illegal in CA, so be careful to whom and where you mention that fact.
I've read CA's assault weapons ban and it only says "able to hold more than 10 rounds". With the limiter installed it is unable to hold more than 10 but with the limiter removed (and you will need another release base) it can hold more than 10. It's a gray area and I'm assuming that if caught with a 20 rd mag with a 10 rd limiter it would be ok if the limiter is installed when you are questioned. The ban also says no "folding or telescoping stocks" but the CA compliant Sport I have has the telescoping stock and a threaded flash hider. The Sport was sold to me by a sporting goods store in CA.
Anyway, back to your question, the 20 rd mags with 10 rd limiters were selling for $18 ea. They're the PMAG's.
The bullet button pretty much has eliminated the CA AR ban. As long as you're not shooting a listed lower you can have pretty much anything on your EBR. Which is why that doofus senator from SF is trying to ban them.
The LGS I bought my Sport from is also selling a CA-compliant SIG 556 with a folding stock. It's a little too industrial looking and feeling for my taste, though. Haha. I've even seen CA-compliant FN P90s (PS90) for sale on riflegear.com.
