Hello to everyone.... I purchased an MP15 sport about a month ago now and have had a feeding issue with the PMag. The weapon will feed the round into the chamber but as it does it bends the tip of the round at the bottom of the neck. This causes it to hang up in the chamber. The round won't fire and has to be ejected. I have tried several different brands of ammo in 5.56 and .223 but have the same issue. I did borrow a couple of different mags from someone at the range yesterday and did not have any issues. Any suggestions on a cause? I was thinking feed ramps until the other brand mags functioned. I fired 300 rounds with the PMags and had a 10% malfunction rate.

You already have it figured out.

Your PMag has a 10% malfunction rate with various kinds of ammo.

Same ammo in different magazines chamber just fine.

Your PMag doesn't function well in your rifle. And the 90% that do chamber and fire probably will not have optimum accuracy due to the bullet concentricity issues.

It isn't all that unusual for a magazine to not feed and function properly in a firearm. When you encounter feed problems, try a different magazine. You did that and the other magazines worked just fine.

Got it.... I appreciate the info I wanted to get a second opinion. I do have a question to throw out there though. My MP15 came with the PMags and everything read tells me they are the best for my rifle. Why would mine hate them then if all MP Sports have the same specs? Just curious....

Other than PMags does anyone have any suggestions on the best magazine for my MP15?

Just because you read it on the Internet does not mean it's true. You can have tolerance stack with both the rifle and mag so what works with your gun may not work on another.

I use milsurp or NHMTG mags. You can't run them over with a truck, but I've never had a mag related malfunction with four separate AR's.

I have COLT milsurp mags, work well like a milsurp, my MP came with 2 metal mags dont know the brand work fine they are milspec. All my other 50+ mags are Pmags or another MAGPUL type hardly have any isses, that wernt my fault such as forgeting to clean them. Last week my gun after 3 years or hard use and abuse and who knows how manny rounds went "black" for the first time. Bent the case and fireing pin mis stuck primer causeing failure to fire. It wasent a mag issue I Inspected the round and found the bullet not seated properly or bad case/bullet seal, knocked the bulled down the neck 2/3 of the way. Lake City green tip is the only ammo I use or Fereral Green tip. But i have never had any issues with a MAGPUL product every person I know uses them.
