Walked into Dick's today just to look around. ended up walking out with a new MP15T. The question I have is that S&W site says 5.56, the barrel says 5.56. The tag hanging from it said .223/5.56 and the gunsalesman there i can fire both through it. Just wanted some direction on the matter so i dont destroy my new firearm.

A barrel chambered in 5.56 can fire both .223 & 5.56.

A barrel chambered in .223 should only fire .223.
