Anyone had any problems with federal bulk? I just opened a new brick and have 2 or 3 FTF out of every 12 round mag. I usually have good luck with them so I don't know is going on. They all have fine strike marks. I hate to leave em laying in the yard but I'm a little leery to handle em a whole lot

My M&P 22 doesn't like the Fed 325 bulk pack. I shoot it in my Henry!

The M&P22 and the Walther P-22 are both made by the same company and they both have short cycles with Federal ammo, as they use a more powerful recoil spring than other guns. I did a chronograph test and the deviation was 127 feet per second, which is why some of them are underpowered. CCI Mini-Mag was only 33 feet per second and they work every time.

Thanks guys, I've shot tons of federals out of my MP22 and had a SMALL number of problems until recently so I wonder if I got a bad batch of ammo?

I had similar problems with Remington Thunderbolts. I switched to CCI minimags and they fire fine . . . But good luck finding .22LR!

I've had the same problem. Fed auto match does not run well in my M&P 22.

My MP 22 has this problem with CCI Blazers. There is a about 5-10% failure to fire and then on some rounds it would fire, but the brass does not eject; the slide does not cycle and would manually extract and eject. I think one would blame this on the ammo instead of the gun, right?

I have plenty of .22 of all kinds but have always had good luck with the federals so I stocked up on them and now they are giving me problems for some reason. Braindoc does your pistol shoot federals fine? If so we could swap ammo, my MP22 shoots the blazers fine. Ha

I had the exact same issue with the same brand of ammo 3 to 4 rounds out of every mag would not fire in the gun. Same ammo was 100% reliable in my other .22 pistols.. I am not a gunsmith!!! I had a good friend who was and I learned a few thing.. My issue was the bearchface barrel fit was bad on my gun. That should be 100% flat and mine was not.. Send it back to S&W or take it to someone that knows what there doing with guns they will know how to correct this in 2 mins or less.. Very easy fix but must be done right.. My M&P .22 will shoot all brands of ammo without failure to fire now.. Granted the M&P .22 needs a high velocity ammo to cycle the gun but it does in fact fire all the brands I used so far..No more issues to fire! George
