I like it...and its right on. This man says it better than I have ever heard it put before. We all need to stand to defend this Constitution that has served us so well and is the base for our Republic. The founding fathers got it right....and its up to every American Citizen to insure that our Children and Grandchildren have the same freedom we have. Our Freedom was bought and paid for by Vetrens that wrote a blank check for us.....we need to stand up and write that blank check for our future Americans....do not do it for just ourselves....I have lived a great life....and I will not be guilty of giving up the freedom of our next generation of Americans. As Americans we should know the price of Freedom....many have paid that price for us. They would roll over in their grave if we threw away everything they died for. We need to grow a set and stand for the Constitution. If Freedom loving people would stand and say...this is not going to be accepted and we will not tolerate any violation of our Second Amendment...it will all go away.....but its going to take our Courage and our will to stand for what is right and just and accept nothing less. We will not negoiate the Second Amendment or any of the Bill Of Rights. What part of "Not To Be Infringed" do they not understand? We need to make it crystal clear....in all states that we will accept no infringement on our constitution rights. If they come for my brothers guns or my friends guns or my fellow citizens guns....they will get to meet the whole group of Americans that will not roll over and there are enough of us to convince them to honor the Oath to defend the Constitution or get a job where you do not take an Oath...but do not tread on our Second Amendment because you will not be dealing with a raid on one citizen trying to defend their rights.....you will be dealing with an army of citizens that have been down the road before. I hope and pray that the Supreme Court gets it right and are not corrupted by being appointed and feeling they owe favors. But we are the bottom l.ine if all else fails....and we can do the job.....I pray it never comes to that but we will not give up the Freedom of our future generation. We owe them that much. This Country will not become Pol Pot and the Cambocdian Killing Fields.

Big update on plan to reduce gun violence

The U.S. Senate just took a big step toward reducing gun violence and making the country a safer place. This week, the Judiciary Committee voted to send to the Senate floor four different pieces of legislation that:
•Require background checks for all gun sales;

•Create new federal offenses for gun trafficking;

•Ban military-style assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition; and

•Strengthen safety at schools.

There's a lot more work to do -- even for this legislation to get a vote.

But this is a major step forward.

You've already expressed an interest in this policy discussion, and we're sure you know other folks who are following this debate. Regardless of where you come down on these specific proposals, we're all united in the ultimate goal -- reducing the amount of gun violence in this country and making America a safer place for our kids.
