I was watching Goldfinger yesterday and there is a scene on an airplane where P. Galore points a revolver at James Bond and says that she's got a Smith & Wesson .45. The movie was made in 1964 so if it was a new revolver in 1964,what model S&W would that have been? I know I could probably google it but if someone has one,a picture would be nice.Thanks.

Long action with exposed hammer stud, so prewar. That means the short barrel is a modification. Is that a ramp front sight?

Holy Moly, her hand is bigger than one you'd find on a pro basketball player!

I first saw that movie in the theatre up in Minnesota while on a trip with my grandparents( I don't think they knew what James Bond was; they just dropped me off at the movies with enough money for a ticket and popcorn ;)) when I was nine-I never got close to looking at her hands. :D

Realistically, if she really had that gun, it would probably be a M-1950 or 1955 .45 Target. The latter has/had a heavier barrel, not as tapered.

Normally seen with a 6.5-inch bbl., some may have been made with four-inch barrels. Some .44 Specials were. I think Badger Shooter's Supply in Wisconsin ordered some.

It was so long ago since I read the book that I don't recall which gun she had, if Fleming named one. I did see the movie, and what I said here is what I think the gun is, if it's really even a .45.

I agree with Caj as in who in the heck is looking at the gun? it could have been a glock and I could care less. Honor Blackman is a really good looking lady

According to imfdb.org the gun in question is a S&W model number 22 chambered in 45 acp. P.S. im my humble opinion the young lady holding that S&W is very attractive.

Movies from the good old days, when firing a gun inside an airplane were to somehow always cause it to crash... :D

Why is anybody taking Bond's word that it's a 45? In Dr. No he told the guy that had a 1911 that (a) it was a Smith and Wesson and (b) it only held 6 rounds.

If they needed a 4" N frame, it's probably a heavy duty, or maybe a 44 HE.

I didn't know, but you got me curious. S&W 22 45ACP according to this site, looks to be right.

Alas, IMFDB has come a cropper. Ms Galore is holding a long-action N-frame, as shown by the hammer profile and exposed hammer stud. The 22 was a short-action N-frame.

Just because Bond calls it a .45 doesn't mean that it is one, though the chambers sure look big in that one photo from the front. Could be a .44, I suppose.

Moondawg, I was gonna make a smart alec comment about nobody mentioning her first name, but figgered I'd get one of those "warning" things.:D
Just that would make it a PG-13 rating today.

I always thought it interesting that they called her that in the movie back then and got away with it..........

And some of you guys are "over-the-hill" if your interest in her is her gun...............:p

I wonder-
Same prop gun used by Indy Jones? A chopped 455 Triple Lock??

Long action with a shrouded rod and fixed sights-
You only have 3 choices:
Triple Lock
38/44 Heavy Duty
Model of 1926

The original Model of 1950-45 Military and the Model marked Mod 22's were NOT shrouded guns.

Remember movie trivia that Honor Blackman was first leading lady older than leading man in a A rated picture.. She was 37, Connery 34. I may be wrong, but it was in Parade years ago.. made a big deal of it.

Mae West didn't make "A" pictures?

I'm No Angel, 1933. Leading man was Cary Grant. He was 28, she was 40.
