Gunmen in mass killings had permits
Despite recent massacres, regulations aren't getting any stricter

updated 53 minutes ago
They had more in common than unleashing carnage — nearly every gunman in this monthlong series of mass killings was legally entitled to fire his weapons.

So what does that say about the state of gun control laws in this country? One thing appears certain: the regulations aren't getting stricter. Many recent efforts to change weapons laws have been about easing them.

Despite eight rampages that have claimed 57 lives since March 10, "it hasn't sparked any national goal to deal with this epidemic. In fact, it's going the other way," said Scott Vogel of the Freedom States Alliance, a gun control activist group.

Even for those wingnuts, they're sounding shrill.
"Legally entitled to fire their weapons"? At who? Other people and whenever they feel like it?

The anti-gun media and groups like the Brady Bunch are shameless in their exploitation of tragedies to try to advance their agenda. But, not much different from the NRA, gun control, animal rights, tree hugger, and similar contribution-funded organizations all prosper by ginning up emotions --- anger, fear, etc. Some do it with more class and measured responses than others. There's usually an inverse relationship between the amount of stridency and hyperbole of the message and the actual facts of the matter. This of course is lost on the mostly ignorant and gullible consumers of TV news, which is why our side needs to be better, and better funded, at getting our message across, and why we should all support the NRA and other pro-gun organizations.

And in the news today 21 Americans were hijacked by Somali pirates. What did they ALL have in common? They were on a ship. That's right America, ships, they're bad. If we can ban ships we'll stop the pirates.
