Music that makes men cry thread

I have to admit it.....

OK, I'm very affected by music. But mostly with songs about manly men.

The minstrel fell but the foeman's chain
Could not keep his proud soul under,
The harp he loved ne'er spoke again,
for he tore it's cords asunder.
And said, "No chain shall sully thee.
Thou soul of love and bravery.
Thy songs were made for the pure and free,
They shall never sound in slavery."

Just a few that get to me are:

Nessun Dorma preferably by Jackie Evancho but also by Pavarotti
Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain by Willie Nelson
I Want to know What Love IS by Foreigner
I Can't Help It by Hank Williams
Sweet Dreams (about you) by Patsy Cline
In Dreams by Roy Orbison

Like I said in my earlier post, I'm not a fan of country. But some of the later posts reminded me of another one, Restless Heart's "I'll Still Be Loving You". And in another genre, Boz Skaggs "We're All Alone".

I wept openly in Church Sunday when the Choir sang the song: "Hallelujah".

Big choir, strong voices, well practiced, backed by a seven piece band.

Feeling every note down to the core of my being.

Extremely powerful medicine, that.

TAPS
The Star Spangled Banner
Slow Dixie...yeah. I know its Ole Miss, but still.........

Nearer My God to Thee is another. The song with the near same title was one that was sung at my Grandmothers funeral in 1979. The Piano and Violin made me bawl to say the least.

I love both versions of the "Titanic" song. :-))

You ought to check out Wynona Judd's version of I Want To Know What Love Is. Her mother and sister and numerous familiar faces were in the audience and they were all just a boo-hooin'. She puts a lot of power and a lot of hurt in her version.

I forgot about two Willie did and Blue Eyes was one of them. The other was in a duet with Julio Igleasias: "To All the Girls Ive Loved Before."

"I Fall To Pieces" by: Patsy Cline is another.

"The Air That I Breathe" by: The Hollies as well as "Spirit In the Sky."
