I love music. I hear it in every thing I do, everywhere I go. I play the electric bass and constantly listen to music. I have a 50 mile commute to work and always have music playing as I drive. Yes, I sing loudly and badly along with the radio.

I also have eclectic tastes in music. I like anything that's done well. On my USB stick I have everything from country to rock and jazz to classical. Today, on my way home from work, this popped up on the random list:

I enjoyed it all the way home. Yes, I have other classical pieces on there as well.

If you don't want to get friendly with CHiPs, avoid playing "Hocus Pocus" by Focus or "Light in the Black" by Rainbow.

Ever since it was available I've been an XM Radio (now joint venture with Sirius) subscriber. I've not used the CD player in any car I've owned since and I love it! I have at least 20 channels programmed and I am pretty diverse in my music taste. I too enjoy Classical, Symphony, 60's, 40's, Sinatra, 70's, Classic Vinyl, The Bridge and on longer trips I listen to Radio Classics that plays all the old radio programs from the 40's - 60's. My favorite is Johnny Dollar. :)

I have to renegotiate the deal annually, but I believe I pay about $100/year, per/vehicle (but have the Harley's XM turned off when not riding in the dead of Winter). For the money I spend on XM I save on CD's, iTunes, etc. and different music is only a touch of the button away.

When home I frequently listen to Pandora or the music on my Cable Service.

Bluegrass, western swing, southern gospel, some jazz, Chet Atkins style guitar.

Supposed to got to a jam Saturday, and bring one of the Martins. Good food, friends and music.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

I used to listen to and consume insane amounts of music of all sorts, from classical to rap to punk to folk. I can't think of a single genre that I can't find something I like, even if I dislike the majority of said genre. My iTunes has something like 12k songs on it. I spend so much time on the road that music was a necessity, and since I enjoy it so much I upgraded the all the stereos in my cars.

But, I got started listening to audiobooks and podcasts and I rarely buy music anymore. I listen to music when I'm running errands around town. Any of my longer drives I listen to audiobooks and podcasts.

I've got a tin ear and don't much appreciate music. Once, while carving up an isolated Austrian valley on the back of my husbands Goldwing, a piece of classical music came on the stereo that was a perfect match to the environment.

I started thinking "I wish it was louder", and simultaneously hubby cranked it up. He felt it also.

Country, classical, 50's, & 60's, are my favorites with room for other genres except rap, hip hop, & punk.
I had XM for years until they got too pricey. Spotify works fine for me.

I usually listen to one local FM station which is very good in its selection of oldies (usually 1950s thru 1980s) and is not loaded with commercials. Only problem is I can't get it more than about 40 miles from San Antonio. I also have several hundred songs (including most of my favorite Beatles numbers) from the same period (downloaded from YouTube as MP3) on several MP3 discs to play in the car. Works if you have a car player which will handle MP3 files. My older pickup truck system won't.

I just read where many audio systems in newer cars no longer have CD players. Sigh.

I like all kinds of music from jazz to rock to classical to bluegrass to older country, but most of the time I'm listening to Contemporary Christian music while driving.

My wife reminds me of the old joke about the cop who stopped a driver he observed flipping off and cursing out other drivers. The guy asked what he did wrong. The cop said the way you were acting I thought the car must be stolen since there's a Jesus sticker on the back.

All that to say that she is an aggressive and "vocal" driver. I try not to ride with her unless I have no choice. Oh, and she listens to Contemporary Christian music while screaming and cursing at the drivers around her.

I'm doomed, I tell you, doomed. Hey, I'm far from perfect, but at least I remain calm behind the wheel.
