Muzzle reloading so to speak

Okay, so I went out and did it. I used powder coated maxi's. I was at the range late in the day so I only go about 4 rounds down range. Need to work on the accuracy a little be all in all it seems to work at anticipated. Cleaning the rifle didn't seem any more difficult than if I had used lubed bullets.

This is at 50 yards. The photo is 90 degrees off. The 2 outer shots were with 90 grains and the 2 inner were 100 grains. Need to do a little research for the min and max loads but, so far so good.

Nice groups. Looks like you would be pretty much dead on at 100. Nothing wrong with experimenting and I don't think you will hurt the gun.

Oops, I just realized the 90 degrees off, so disregard the dead on at 100. In Ohio where I hunt I have never shot past 50 yards we hunt in the woods and you really can't shoot much past that.

I love my TC 50 cal. I use a .45 sabot bullet with 2 - 777 pellets and I always use bore butter. Cleanup is easy with just hot water and soap then a thin coat of bore butter once I am done. I always lube the breech plug with a very light coat of grease when I re-install it. I just don't shoot enough with it to consider alternate loads. I bought a couple of packs of the sabots and doubt I will ever use them all up.

I have actually experimented with using a bore brush and cleaning solvent with patches. I think it is a 20Ga brush to clean the barrel then solvent and patches with Frog Lube. Patches until dry. Seems to work.
