You could add a liitle color with a crayon to the letters. Cheap and looks good.

Aw man you beat me to it, I was going to make my hand guard the same exact length. looks awesome.

thanks i always thought it was too long so i figured while the barrel was off to be threaded i would just cut it down real quick and im pleased with the results

greentalon03, what shop do you have in new castle, im right next door in butler.

kastners bait tackle and guns its my parents shop were actually in hillsville its a small shop but the prices are great if you ever need anytihing just message me

What did you use to cut yours off? I was going to run it through the table saw or dremel it off with a cutting wheel. Also do you have your end cap in?

as bad as it sounds i used a 10" compound miter saw to cutit off lol and no the end cap doesnt fit in anymore its just stuck on the end of it

I would think the end cap would still work if you cut it precisely, the end cap just "snaps" into the four holes around the rail system, if you cut it off to leave a full hole on the end it should snap in, unless there is a difference in the molding towards the back (on the inside) of the rails.

your endcap doesn't need to snap in to be secure. i took mine off and when i put it back on, i rotated it 45 degrees so it's flush with the handguard but not locked into the recesses. it fits pretty snug to the barrel. so far, no issues with doing it that way.

Awesome, I think I might just use a miter saw too. Sounds easier than a table saw.

how many other of you have noticed a bare spot on the barrel... i wasnt paying attention when i was deciding how short to cut the hand guard and now i have a bare spot right in front of it... i guess its time to powder coat the barrel ;)

Another bare spot here!

Greentalon03, I found the "bare" spot first time I removed the handguard. TC needs to do a better job of finishing off their barrels. My biggest problem has been the constant self-loosening feature of the barrel nut. I'm about ready to Blue Loctite it as I'm sick and tired of shooting decent groups and then everything goes to hell in a handbasket, so to speak. Mine backed out 3/4 turn during a 300 round outing yesterday! I have cranked on that thing until I was sure the barrel was going to spin in the receiver! I Purchased mine in October also and other than the "loose nut", it's been all good. I'm an old Northeastern Ohio guy before I retired to Texas 4.5 yrs. ago. Stop in at "The Lube" in Sharon and have some Cajun Wings for me, will ya? These Texans don't know how to do wings.
