I recently acquired my Dad's 19-4. He's gone to the Glock-side so I was able to take possession of his old wheel-gun. I believe it's from 1979. I just slapped on a set of Ahrends boot grips ... and picked up a Roy's Original Pancake on ebay. Now I've got one heck of a nice carry rig !

Sorry but it's so pretty I wanted to brag.

I like the cocobolo. I almost bought that same one for my 64. If you ever change your mind on them, PM me...

Sweeeeeeeeeet 19-5. Can't get into the Glock's. Every time I think I get serious about buying a Glock I wind up coming home with a new Sig. Have enough autos. Am now getting into some classic smith revolvers.

Thanks. My dad gave the gun to my older brother who didn't shoot it for the three years he had it. He was visiting and remarked how much he liked shooting my 9mm. Seeing an opportunity I asked my brother if he'd consider a trade ... he jumped at the chance.
Now to be fair, my brother made out very well ... he got a beautiful HK p2000. That pistol was worth more than the Smith ... but the Smith was the first handgun I ever shot ... and to me it's priceless.

Very nice.

As far as I'm concerned you traded up :) even if the $ were not the same.

Enjoy shooting it.

I scored a 19-4 just recently and posted here. It's a pleasure to shoot.

Very nice M19-4. Can't help myself around those models. I like the boot grips as well. Been thinking about a set of boots for mine.

You ought to brag that gun up a little. It looks very nice and to top it off it has family history. I wouldn't mind having one like it.

Thats a nice s&w..I will take a wheel gun any day over a semi as a carry..Atleast you know it will fire when needed..lol

I keep coming back to look at that picture. I think I'm going to order that same grip in cocobolo for my 64.
