My 1917 Winchester Enfield

That's a stunning 1917. Easily my favorite milsurp rifle. Strong, accurate, excellent sights. Mine is an Eddystone. A presentation rifle given to the owner of a PA Railroad that supplied the plant with materials- given to him (and other big wigs) to commemorate the mfg of the millionth 1917 at the plant in August 1918.

I just took a closer look at yours. That is pretty fancy wood for an Enfield. Mine is black walnut. I take it , that the finish is all original?

Very nice indeed!!

Finish is 100% original. Barreled action was pulled off the line at Eddystone in summer 1918 and fitted with the stock and plaque that reads "John A Topping," who was the president of Republic Iron and Steel as well as a chairman at the Tennessee Coal, Iron and Railroad Co. that helped supply the Eddystone plant with materials during the war.
