My 1968 M17-3

I pulled this out today, I was going to put grips on it, then I realized it had 2006 Claro Walnut hand carved Culinas on it. They were a gift to me. Have a matching N frame set too. I may need another K frame.

The gun is a 1968, and the first I bought when I started collecting. Came with the box and tools. Yes I paid too much for it, but not real bad. Maybe 150 ( amount overpaid ) at the time. Just a touch of muzzle holster wear.

You guys are tough. The grips date back to when John hand carved grips. Bothe the K & N sets I have are similar and dated.

They were once owned by a forum member named Buff that has passed

I'm not a fan of keeping boxes around. They take up to much space. I bought a BNIB registered magnum. I recycled the box. Broke it apart so it would take less space up in the bin.

OP- is the yoke marked "-3" or "-2?" Reason I ask is that I own a -3 that shipped in June 1968 that had a "-2" marked yoke so in 1968 they were still using some leftover -2 parts.

Narragansett- nice gun and grips ! Some very generous offers you are getting. I certainly paid for mine. My 17-4 has a very nice set of Herretts that I thinned out at the butt to create somewhat of a palm swell. They came from a bargain bin somewhere. It's an Estate gun that came with box and papers, Original grips and a S&W holster.

I have a very nice 17-3 with very light wear and the 3 T 's ...no box or tools.
I paid a lot more than $150 for it though.

Very nice 17, stocks are beautiful. I got my 17-2, dated to 1965, with the non-relieved diamond targets on it about 3 years ago. I think I did OK for $600. My first S&W.
