This coming Friday or Saturday from GrabAgun.
I have researched this gun for several weeks and am looking forward to it's arrival.
Does the condition when it arrives indicate I should clean it first??

THANKS!

I can tell you that mine was bone dry, so I cleaned and lubed it per the owner's manual.

Every new pistol gets a field strip (more than once..... just because) , clean and lube the day I get it. Including my 2.0. If pistol is used.....a complete detail strip is in order and probably new springs. This is part of the enjoyment of shooting.

^^^^THIS^^^^ ANY new firearm should be completely field stripped, and cleaned of factory oils/lube, etc. before firing. Clean, lube, function check, inspect, then go burn up some ammo!

Ah, you're gonna love that 2.0. But please, field strip, clean, and lube it first before you hit the range. You never know what the factory leaves in a new firearm, or what, if any lube it has.

Welcome! Inquiring minds want to know...full size, Compact, Shield? 9 mm, .40 or .45? We need photos! :)

You've made a great choice. I love my 2.0 Compact.

Read the manual. You can download it here to read while waiting for it to arrive: Owner's Manuals | Smith & Wesson

From the manual:
• Before using your firearm for the first time, it should be cleaned.
• Your firearm was treated at the factory with either a preservative or oil to protect it against corrosion during shipping and storage.
• Preservative and oil should be wiped from the bore, chamber and exposed areas using a clean swab or patch before using the firearm.

I am a relatively new M2.0 owner, and have followed all the above advice. The only thing I might add is, that I cycled snap-caps thru it several dozen times. That seems to have made/allowed the pistol to reload and expel more fluidly. In other words, it didn't appear to want to hang up as frequently. A little wear and tear on my digits doing all that racking, but all is good in the long run...
:D

It's a 3.6" 9mm M2.0, black, compact.
I did pull it down and found it to be quite dry inside so I put some Breakfree on a Q-tip and lubed the inside.
There is residue in the barrel, but that should be the 2 shots the factory took to capture the bullet and shell case markings.
I was disappointed that it came in a cardboard box, not the usual nice plastic box, most other guns I have have come in.

Now to endure 2 days of rain before I can shoot it.

Congrats! After several hundred rounds break in, mine has become my primary carry.

Enjoy! ;-)
