I've had this 19-4 since new, in 1979 I think, and have always felt the stocks were a little small for my hand, especially when shooting .357.
A little over a week ago, forum member MattJames had some nice stocks for sale, and I bought the Culina round butt K frame walnut targets from him.

I think they look a little too big on the gun, making it kind of bottom heavy looking but - surprise!
They have a palm swell, and oh my goodness do they ever feel good in the hand! I can't wait to go shoot it with these!

I'm sorry for the harsh night time shop light, but I wanted to share these as soon as I got them.

Is the wood cocobolo or ebony, maybe?
Larry
It's walnut, probably American black walnut, my favorite wood, not just for stocks but also furniture.
Looking at the obverse, you can see where Culina used a stain to darken the wood.

Yes, they do make your butt look big, but some appreciate that. ;)

LOL! Now that's funny! I haven't owned my nickel 19-4 for as long as you, but they sure are sweet revolvers. I also have some big mitts, and the RB stocks are a little small for me. But since I don't carry it or shoot it very often, it's no big deal. If I did, I would probably just add a T-grip like Wyatt Burp. But those Culina's that you picked up are certainly nice! Enjoy!

Not too uncommon, but I like Herrett RKR grips on my 66-2. It is all about how they feel to you! Bob
