So I recently snagged a Model 36 square butt and bought some OEM S&W wood stocks for it…turns out they’re round-butt. However, I had an idea…why not try them on my 442?

Coming from the stock OEM S&W, I kinda like them. They’re a little sparse, but they’re easier to conceal and of similar comfort in the hand. I think these are going to hurt to shoot with, but I do have a Hogue monogrip if needed and the 36 has a Pachymar grip with full-size on it, which is pretty handy-filling.

I’m still wanting to get a wood stock for my 36, it’s a nickel revolver and I think it’ll look sharp with some flavor of walnut stocks or something.

I’d wait until I found an appropriate set of factory stocks for your nickel 36 square butt. New stocks on an old gun just don’t look right.
