Just got my cylinder back from TK Custom, who did the conversion so I can shoot both the original 45 Colt as is and 45ACP with moonclips. Took a little over a week to get it back and it looks great. Can't wait to shoot it!

Here's the gun:

Now you went and did it! Now you have me thinking of doing that. One week turn around is phenomenal! Please, report back after shooting.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I don't get out to shoot very often, but I always treat myself to a trip to the range on my birthday, which is coming up in April so this one will definitely be in the bag. I'll report back then.

As for cost, TK charges $125, which includes the return shipping. Then of course you need to buy moon clips ($20 for 10 of them.) I didn't realize he'd also reblue the machined area. It looks like it came from the factory this way!

What a great idea. Perfect for my old 25-5. Plus, I've already got a bunch of moons for a Brazilian. Thanks!

So, Zuchus...how did it shoot?
Any difference in accuracy between the .45 Colt and ACP rounds?
Enquiring minds want to know :)

That's pretty interesting, but does anybody know how the 45ACPs shoot from the 45 Colt cylinder? Any accuracy issues? Because the ACP case is ~.4" shorter than the Colt, does the bullet damage the chamber wall before it gets to the cylinder throat? Seems like the ACP bullet wouldn't seal up & would have a lot of gas by-pass when fired within the Colt's chamber, that far from the throat?
