Just wanted to show off my 27-2 from 1968 with my new Culina grips. My photos do not even come close to trying to do justice to how beautiful these grips are. Fit and finish is fantastic.
A pleasure to hold and they look so much better in person than these poor photos....27.jpg

All you guys with the Culina grips.

2. please tell us the wood they are made out of

Culina Koa 27-2 5" Nickel

My wife found the Koa in Hawaii and got it to Jennifer the grip makers wife. The completed stocks arrived last night. God bless wives!

The Koa looks great on a stainless gun!
I love my wife to death but I can never imagine her finding a piece of wood for me to use as a grip.
That would be too much encouragement!

Love the model 27 and am wondering if anyone can tell me what serial number range or varient would equate to a "born-on-date" of 1967?

I think the 27 is next on my hit list, but would love to get one that is the same "vintage" as I am... as I was born in 1967.

That would be a 27-2 and based on 27-2s in my collection, I would think that a 1967 gun would be in the S270XXX-S280XXX range. As you probably know, they were not shipped in SN order, so without a letter or ship date request (one of the benefits of being a SWCA member), not something that can be pinned down.

Good luck,

John is a true artist and Jennifer offers great advice and is a delight to work with! Nice to deal with a mom and pop business. Trying to do my part to keep them afloat!
